General Admission Procedures and Requirements
Eligibility
1. ”International Students” here refers to those students who have neither overseas Chinese status nor ROC citizenship as referred to in Article 2 of the Nationality Act. According to Article 2 of the Nationality Act, a person shall have the nationality of the Republic of China under any of the following conditions:
a. His/ her father or mother was a national of the Republic of China when he/she was born.
b. He/ She was born after the death of his/her father or mother, and his/her father or mother was a national of the Republic of China at the time of death.
c. He/ she was born in the territory of the Republic of China, and his/her parents can’t be ascertained or both were stateless persons.
d. He/ She has undergone the nationalization process.

2. Those who held ROC citizenship within the past eight years are not eligible for application. “Eight years” specified here is from the date the applicant’s ROC citizenship is revoked by approval of the Ministry of the Interior to the date the semester begins on the calendar of CCU.

3. The graduation certificate and degree diploma shall be recognized by the Ministry of Education and shall be verified by Taiwan’s overseas representative office.


Admission Requirements
1. Minimum Language Proficiency Requirements
In order to be admitted to CCU, each international student must meet the minimum academic and language requirements. Applicants should obtain a full scholarship issued by CCU or a statement of financial support, the score of TOEFL ITP over 500 points (TOEFL CBT must be over 173 points) or the IELTS band score over 5.0 OR the score of TOEIC over 650 points.

2. Foreign students who have been expelled by any university or college in the Republic of China are not eligible to re-apply for admission under this procedure. 


3.  Foreign students are not qualified to apply for a Two-year program as undergraduate students and a Master’s program with a full-time job. Those who get ARC, permanent residence permits, or applied for international courses approbated by the Ministry of Education do not need to meet this requirement.
